Biography
Melissa Dye is a lifelong resident of Southwest Virginia and attended University of Virginia at Wise, completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1997. She began her career working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. She returned to Radford University where she received her graduate degree in Social Work in 2011. In 2007, she began working in mental health case management with children and adolescents before moving to school based day treatment services. After graduating from Radford University, she began working in inpatient psychiatric services where she remained for four and half years. After obtaining her distinction as Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2014, she began working in outpatient therapy and progressed to full time outpatient therapy and as a clinical supervisor. Her experience ranges from working with pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations. She and her husband, who also works in the mental health/substance abuse field, enjoy spending time with their two adult daughters and their son-in-law. She strives to have empathy and compassion as we are all living this life together.

She has specialties focused in substance abuse, trauma and has been trained in EMDR. She is well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Structural Family Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy models.
