PARIS, TN – Paula Bell, Pharm. D., BCPS, HCMC Clinical Pharmacist and Residency Program Director, was recently named Union University’s College of Pharmacy’s Introductory to Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Preceptor of the Year.
The IPPE Preceptor of the Year award is awarded annually to a preceptor for outstanding contributions to the educational development of future pharmacists by demanding high standards of pharmacy practice, service and professionalism.
Bell’s nomination from an anonymous student read “When I was on rotation with her my P1 year, I witnessed how invested she was with not only her patients, but with the future pharmacists she was teaching as well. She expected nothing less than our absolute best every single day and she continuously pushed me to my full potential. Looking back I remember thinking to myself how I wanted to be just like her one day and have the knowledge and passion that she has.”
“I cannot think of a more deserving person for this award. Paula has devoted her career to providing exceptional patient care as both a clinical pharmacist and an educator,” said Anna Mayberry, Pharm. D. PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at HCMC. “As a preceptor and residency director, she spends countless hours individualizing her approach to education, ensuring that she is providing the most impactful rotation experience for each person. It is an honor and privilege to have trained with Paula as both a student and a resident, and I strive to emulate her work ethic, passion, and knowledge throughout my career.”
