NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 26, 2019) – Saint Thomas Heart and Henry County Medical Center are pleased to demonstrate their continued commitment to Paris, Tennessee, with the recruitment of the area’s first full-time invasive cardiologist. Dr. Wayne St. Michael Gibson, MBBS, MBA, FACP, FACC, is relocating from Colorado to begin serving the people of Henry County on December 1, 2019.
Dr. Gibson will join an advanced practitioner and rotating cardiology specialists at HCMC Kelley Clinic in Paris, located at 1015 Kelley Drive. Most recently, Dr. Gibson practiced at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado, and the United States Airforce Academy Clinic in Colorado Springs. He previously served as a cardiologist at KentuckyOne Health Cardiology Associates in Louisville, Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana.
After receiving his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Gibson completed his cardiology fellowship at Columbia University of Physicians and Surgeons in Harlem Hospital Center in New York. He was also an advanced fellow in nuclear cardiology at Mayo Clinic’s Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He has held several medical business leadership roles and holds a Master of Business Administration from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas.

Visiting rotating cardiologists Dr. Stephen Fahrig, Dr. David Gibson, Dr. Bjarki Olafsson, Dr. Vafa Mansouri, and nurse practitioner Cindy Norman will continue to serve patients in Paris by working alongside Dr. Gibson. Dr. Gibson and his wife Dr. Stephanie Gibson, a pathologist and population health expert, look forward to becoming active members of the Paris community.
