Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center announced last November that Jeff Ramirez would become the organization’s Director of Plant Operations where he will oversee the maintenance, repair and renovations of the buildings and grounds of HCMC’s main facility, as well as its four satellite locations.
Though he spent most of his career in Illinois, he is no stranger to the region. “I introduced my wife to the area years ago as I grew up east of Jackson, Tennessee in Beech Bluff,” said Ramirez. “We bought our first place in Kentucky in 2015 and came down for vacations and weekends. I had spent many a day at Paris Landing and the lake with family growing up.”
Ramirez, a native of Maple Park Il, brings nearly 40 years of experience working in product development, environmental chemistry, commercial construction, land development and facilities management. He comes to HCMC after working at U-46 School District in Elgin, IL from 2018-2021.
He began his career in healthcare in 1990 as the facility services supervisor at Central DuPage Hospital. In that role, Ramirez oversaw maintenance, expansions and required inspections at the 750,000-sq. ft. facility.
Ramirez is excited about returning to healthcare. “The size of HCMC was the draw for me. After I got here the family of work partners reminds me of the first hospital I worked at where I got to express my abilities to serve others with work and ethics.”
Following his tenure at Central DuPage Hospital, Ramirez worked for private construction and development companies before joining U-46 School District in Elgin, IL. As Supervisor of Maintenance and District Operations for the second-largest school district in Illinois, Ramirez managed the mechanical and infrastructure of 58 schools, which totaled 1.75 million square feet.
Ramirez and his wife, Suzanne, have four children. When not working, Ramirez enjoys fishing, boating, hot rods, cooking and time with his family.
