Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center named Rachel Carroll as the organization’s new Director of Human Resources in January of this year. Prior to being named Director, Carroll served in the Human Resources Department as a generalist for four months.
The McKenzie, TN, native is responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training new hires to HCMC, while also monitoring job performances of current staff, competencies, overseeing health and welfare benefits, retention and turnover rates, ACA, and ensuring AA/EEO compliance. Carroll is also responsible for dealing with employee grievances, supporting employee development, maintaining employee records, and designing accountability mechanisms.
Carroll spent the previous two years as Human Resources Manager at Perimeter Behavioral of Jackson, TN before coming to HCMC. In all, Carroll has over thirteen years of experience in Human Resources with the majority of the experience being in a hospital/healthcare setting, which is her passion.
Carroll earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee-Martin in May 2004. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration in Human Resource Management at Bethel University and will graduate early 2022.
Carroll has one son, Deven, 18, who will be attending East Tennessee State University in the fall to pursue a degree in Health Care Administration. She also has two nieces, Reese and Abigail. A long time avid runner, Carroll loves the outdoors. She also enjoys traveling anytime she gets the opportunity. She has been actively involved in the McKenzie school system for the past twelve years, serving on multiple booster boards. She is an active member of The Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
