Paris, TN – Paris & Henry County Healthcare Foundation, Inc. is excited to participate in the November 27, 2018 #GivingTuesday – Day of Giving.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses, and individuals—to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, this year, November 27, 2018, to kick off the holiday giving season and to inspire people to give back. Millions of people around the world have participated in the movement.
“The Healthcare Foundation has been in Henry County since 1994, providing a mission of healing through philanthropic endeavors to promote health and wellbeing in the region,” said Tory Daughrity, Director of Marketing & Public Relations at Henry County Medical Center. “The Healthcare Foundation supports students going into healthcare through scholarships as well as purchasing equipment to improve care to our patients that we serve. We also provide health education, health screenings, and so much more free to our community. This year, we are working to renovate our Emergency Department, a place that sees 20,000 patients each year. We encourage you to consider contributing to this effort during #GivingTuesday.”
Every year, our Emergency Department sees approximately 20,000 patients through its doors. Since the Emergency Department is our “front doors” to care, the Paris & Henry County Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors decided to dedicate fundraising efforts to improving this area for our community. Improvements will include a new TV, new front doors, painting, new furniture, and other amenities that will help to make the area comfortable for our patients and their families.
The Paris & Henry County Healthcare Foundation has continuously provided improvements in care to Henry County Medical Center, the Henry County Healthcare Center, Henry County EMS, and other Ancillary Services. We ask that you continue to support us so we can provide that “mission of healing” to the community and region
Founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y – a community and cultural center in New York City − #GivingTuesday inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in. Over $300 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness.
“It’s been a privilege to work with remarkable leaders all over the country building a movement around #GivingTuesday,” said Henry Timms, 92Y’s Executive Director and founder of #GivingTuesday. “This initiative has truly been crowd-sourced by some of the smartest and most connected minds among the next generation of philanthropists and entrepreneurs.”
