Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center is proud to announce that Lawanna Johnson Henry County Healthcare Center Director of Food and Nutrition, was selected as Director of the Quarter at the September Department Directors’ meeting.

Johnson was recognized for her outstanding work and customer service.  Johnson has been employed by Henry County Medical Center and has worked at both HCMC and Henry County Healthcare Center for 28 years.  She continues to have dual roles in both healthcare facilities.

Johnson exhibits outstanding customer service and dependability. She is always willing to take on extra duties to help any department. You can find her name on almost every committee for our hospital system. She volunteers to come in and help with COVID testing, distributing food for staff during special events, and many other “extras” not job-related.

“Lawanna is a valued member of our HCHC team and one of the reasons we are a CMS five star rated facility. I am so very proud to have her as Director of our Food and Nutrition Department. She continues to lead her department in receiving highest praise from our surveyors,” said Sandra Ray, Administrator at HCHC.

Johnson was born and raised in Camden and now lives in Big Sandy with her husband of 44 years, Jerold Johnson.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee with Master of Science in Human Environmental Sciences.  Johnson stays busy all the time.  She plays the piano in the church she attends, helps in her community, takes care of her elderly mother and belongs to the Order of the Eastern Star where she served the State of Tennessee as Worthy Grand Matron.  She believes that we all have a talent that God has given us, and we should share it with others.  No matter the situation we are in sometimes we must step out of our comfort zones to help others.  She stated she loves the partners she works with but the reason she works is her patients and residents.  Johnson encourages many young people to find a job that 99% of the time you want to get up and go to work.  This is how she feels about coming to work at Henry County Healthcare Center and Henry County Medical Center every day.

HCMC recognizes department leaders every quarter as well as selecting a department leader of the year at the annual Service Awards presentation held in September.
