Paris, TN – Catherine Langley, new mother to Jesse Wayne, was able to take her baby home in a Christmas stocking made with love by members of the HCMC Volunteer Auxiliary. The Auxiliary’s tradition is to make a Christmas stocking for each baby born in the month of December at Henry County Medical Center.
Additionally, the Paris Q.U.I.L.T Guild makes quilts and delivers the quilts to the hospital and then the nurses and staff distribute the quilts to the new babies and their families along with the stockings.
Each stocking is handmade by various members of the HCMC Volunteer Auxiliary. The stocking is made large enough so each baby may be photographed inside. It is a project that the group has been doing for several years now to celebrate the season.
“He looks so cute,” says Langley as photos were taken of her newborn son, Jesse.
HCMC is excited and honored to be able to spread Christmas cheer to families who deliver at HCMC and can’t wait to give them to many more newborn babies during the month of December.
The Quilters Uniting in Lasting Traditions Guild is a “group of talented quilters that love to share our creations.” The guild meets once a month to share their projects and has a membership of both beginners and experienced quilters. The guild’s goal is to make quilts for the babies that are born at Henry County Medical Center.
HCMC Auxiliary volunteers are warm and caring individuals who give back to the community. Volunteers offer their time, talent and dedication throughout the hospital in patient care and clerical settings providing an extra dimension of care to our patients and families. Volunteers are a vital part of HCMC with more than 40 volunteers currently serving across the organization.
