Paris, TN – The mission of Henry County Medical Center can be summed up in two words, “to provide.” And, during the celebrations of HCMC’s 65th Anniversary and HCHC’s 55th Anniversary, the organization came together to provide a service project providing shoes, socks, jeans, khakis, Wal-Mart gift cards, and haircut certificates to its Partner in Education, Inman Middle School.
Henry County Medical Center Collected almost $1,200 from partners and donated almost $100 in Wal-Mart gift certificates to help purchase needed clothing for the Inman Clothes Closet. Pam Ridley, Director of Information Systems, and Lawanna Johnson, Director of HCHC Food and Nutrition, chaired the service week celebration committee and both knew that part of the celebration would be about giving back to the community that has supported us for 65 years.
“I reached out to Inman Middle School to see if there were any needs that were unmet,” said Ridley. “I wanted to start there since they are our Partner in Education. They suggested several different projects, but this one seemed to embody our mission, to provide, to the children in need at the school. The committee agreed and we held a week long campaign to collect at least a $1 from every partner to go towards this great project.”
With the funds, HCMC was able to purchase over 40 pairs of shoes, several pairs of jeans and socks as well as provide gift cards for unforeseen needs for the children.
“We are proud of our partners at HCMC and HCHC for contributing to such a great cause,” said Johnson. “It is a blessing to be able to make an impact on the community we serve.”
Henry County Medical Center contributes to many organizations and causes collectively as well as departmentally throughout the year including Relay for Life, Helping Hand, Rhea After School Backpack Program, Patriot Kitchen, the Food Pantry, and much more.
