Paris, TN – In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board and American Job Centers, Henry County Medical Center was awarded two Consolidated Business Grants.
Awarded to HCMC last fall, these grants were made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to support Tennessee’s employers affected by COVID-19. The hospital received $15,077 in training grants for the following programs: Cardiac Catheterization, Phlebotomy, Unconscious Bias, Obstetrics, FMLA and Psychopharmacology.
“This grant has allowed us to offer additional education and training to our staff that otherwise might have been pushed off due to COVID,” said Rachel Carroll, Director of Human Resources at HCMC. “We worked together with Department Directors to search for virtual training sessions so that our staff were able to continue to grow and develop in the areas where they have a passion.”
Additionally, the hospital received $8,201.60 for On-The-Job Training of recent graduates and those individuals new to the job field. “The On-The-Job Training Grant has been a major benefit and incentive to work with those who are recent graduates or those who are looking for a career change” said Ms. Carroll.
On January 4, 2021, HCMC received zero deficiencies following an audit of both the CARES ACT Grant and the OJT Grant.
