Paris, TN — Each year, Henry County hosts a Relay for Life event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Henry County Medical Center, as part of our community benefits and support for our community, strives to raise funds each year for the event by hosting fundraisers and participating in the walk. This year was no exception.
In the weeks before the event, HCMC held a t-shirt sale with the profits going to Relay for Life. Over 200 shirts were sold. During the week of Relay for Life, HCMC hosted Queso for a Cure. During lunch time on September 4, HCMC sold chips, salsa, and queso in the cafeteria. Thanks to the donation of chips and salsa from El Vallarta and the queso ingredients donated by HCMC employees, we had a successful fundraiser.
On Thursday, September 5, a silent auction was held at HCMC. Each department constructed a basket to be auctioned off for a great cause. The silent auction featured various themed baskets like a lottery ticket basket, car cleaning basket, and coffee basket, just to name a few.
HCMC was most excited to participate in the actual event on Saturday, September 7 on the Court Square. Along with many others in the community, HCMC set up a booth selling treats to the community. Our booth featured lemonade for $1 and countless HCMC giveaways along with educational material provided by the Henry County Medical Center Diagnostic Center.
Additionally, there were 22 luminaires purchased by HCMC partners in honor and memory of their loved ones.
HCMC had so much fun participating and raising funds for the American Cancer Society at Henry County Relay for Life event and are pleased to announce that together we raised over $2,500. This would not have been possible without the donations of our caring partners at HCMC.
Our hope is that with the efforts of all those raising funds, we can eliminate cancer forever.
