Paris, TN — For the past five years, Henry County Medical Center has hosted a Heart Health Fair in recognition of American Heart Month. With COVID-19, the event was going to look different this year, just including screenings and goodie bags on Feb. 18. Yet, with the inclement weather, HCMC will now host the event on Thursday, March 11 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the HCMC Diagnostic Center.
The screenings are by appointment only, and all those who were registered for the event on Feb. 18 will be guaranteed their spot on March 11. If you registered and are unable to attend, please call the HCMC FindLine at 731-644-3463. For those who want to register for the new date, please call the FindLine to see what options are available.
You are never too old or too young to begin taking good care of your heart. Taking small steps to follow a healthy lifestyle at any age can help prevent heart disease, and lower your risk for a heart attack or stroke. At our Heart Health Event, participants can get a carotid artery ultrasound as well as blood pressure, full lipid panel cholesterol, and blood glucose by appointment only. You must not have had the carotid artery screening performed within the past 5 years. Goodie bags will also be given.
To see what is done during a carotid artery ultrasound, be sure to watch our FB Live that we did with Bella the Bee on Feb. 5. Click on the link to watch: https://fb.me/e/1cUSg1sd0
