PARIS, TN – Based on overall survey results for the year 2020, Henry County Medical Center Home Health and Hospice’s Hospice Department has been named a National Best Practice Agency by Fazzi Associates. The 2021 Award of Distinction was presented to the agency for demonstrating superior performance in patient satisfaction.
“Agencies named as national best practice agencies are proven leaders and have excelled in one of the most important measures of an agency’s quality program– caregiver experience,” said Jennifer Ittner, Project Director for Fazzi Associates. “This is a significant accomplishment that you, your employees, and board should be incredibly proud of.”
Based on a comparative analysis of agencies involved in Fazzi Associates’ Hospice CAHPS system for the past year, your results for the Overall Satisfaction or Likelihood of Recommending survey questions place you in the top 25% of Fazzi’s National Hospice CAHPS database.
“This award is presented to hospice organizations that have demonstrated superior performance in 2020,” according to Ittner.
Cynthia Stigall, Director of HCMC Home Health and Hospice, credits her team’s consistent caring and dedication to a challenging healthcare field as the driving force to the most recent recognition.
“I believe that our hospice staff is the best around and they have worked very hard to achieve this honor,” said Stigall. “They are hometown people serving hometown people. Our dedicated hospice staff continually strives to assist their patients and support persons as they near the end of life’s journey. They will help you make decisions about how and where you wish to spend the rest of your life.
“Hospice emphasizes quality of life, rather than length of life,” explained Stigall. “I encourage anyone to contact Denise Brogdon or any of the hospice staff if you have questions. They will be glad to talk with you.”

The staff provides valuable physical assessment, evaluation, and instruction for the patient and family, while closely monitoring the patient’s condition with regular reports to his or her physician.
Hospice is support for people with limited life expectancy and their families. We provide a comfortable, supportive environment, ensuring that the quality of life is the best it can be. We pay special attention to physical, spiritual and psychological needs of our patients and their families. Hospice patients must be certified by their primary care physician as having limited life expectancy and their physician must agree to manage their care.
