PARIS, TN — HCMC Diagnostic Center is now participating in the American College of Radiology’s (ACR) General Radiology Improvement Database (GRID). Participation in the database is voluntary and allows our facility and physicians a unique opportunity to compare turnaround times; patient wait times, incident rates, and many other process and outcome measures with other facilities and practices of similar size and type. The database also provides accurate and objective national and regional benchmarks for practice processes and outcomes to help our practice gauge its progress.
With GRID, facilities submit a variety of performance data each month. Then, every six months, participants receive a report comparing quality metrics from their site to metrics calculated using aggregate data from all participants for the same period. Participants can also compare their metrics to aggregate metrics from institutions of similar type and size.
All of these objective comparisons are used to advance the practice of radiology and implement successful quality improvement programs to improve patient care. GRID is part of the ACR National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR™), which leads the effort in developing benchmarks and comparisons to help imaging facilities improve quality of patient care.
“We are excited that participating in the Radiology Improvement Database was a goal of our organization that has prepared us to submit an application to the ACR for the Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, which will include a site visit within the next few months” said Billie McKee, Director of Imaging.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
The Henry County Diagnostic Center is a 10,000 square foot facility which integrates the latest technology with convenience, comfort and communication to ensure that patients have the best experience possible. This technically advanced imaging facility is a place where our exceptional Radiologists read images from the most advanced digital imaging equipment available. This means that images are viewed electronically rather than on traditional film.
Digital imaging provides clearer, more detailed images. Patients are now able to have their outpatient exams done in a timely manner with easy access thanks to a patient drop off and close parking.
Services offered at the facility include:
- CT Scan
- MRI
- Ultrasound
- Diagnostic X-Ray
- EKGs
- Laboratory
- Pre-admission Testing
- Specialized Women’s Imaging
- Diagnostic Mammography
- Screening Mammography
- Breast Ultrasound
- CAD: Computer-aided Detection
- Bone Densitometry
The Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology, The Joint Commission, and certified by the FDA. All Radiologists are board certified or eligible by the American College of Radiology. HCMC also has ACR accreditation in mammography, MRI and CT.
