Join us on Tuesday, December 1 at 12 Noon to learn about organ donation from our very own Kristina Cannon, a partner and an organ receipient. Joining her will be Wanda Stanfil, Hospital Services Coordinator for TN Donor Service. They will cover the following:

• The need for organ and tissue donation (stats).
• How lives can be saved and improved through donation.
• How to become a register donor to help save and improve lives and why it is so important.
• What all they can use during the organ/tissue donation process.

Our Chronic Disease Management Program offers free screenings including total lipid panel, blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI  and A1c.  If a person has a chronic condition , smokes or is overweight, they can join the program for free. Participants are screened every three months and receive education about their chronic conditions. All patients must be fasting for 8 hours to participate in the screening. Screenings will be done by appointment only to provide social distancing. Masks are required. Screening will be held at HCMC Diagnostic Center Atrium. First Presbyterian Church in Paris at 11:30 a.m. The Cancer Care Center of Henry County, The Healthcare Foundation, and Henry County Medical Center come together to offer a support group for cancer patients and their caregivers every 2nd Thursday of each month. Lunch is provided, but you must RSVP for the support group meetings. Lifeline Blood Drive Wednesday, December 30 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. HCMC will host a Lifeline blood drive on Wednesday, December 30. Times are 9 am – 11:30 am and 12:30 pm – 4 pm. Please make plans to help out with this blood drive.  Blood supply gets critical this time of year, especially with COVID-19. All donors will receive a FREE T-shirt and the first 40 donors will receive a loaded tea courtesy of Paris Nutrition. Those giving blood will not be entering HCMC, but can access the Lifeline Bloodmobile off the HCMC Cafeteria Patio.  All registration will occur at the Bloodmobile.

Henry County Medical Center will be hosting a Community COVID-19 Vaccination Pod Tuesday, January 5 through Friday, January 8 from the hours of 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The event is open to all Henry County Residents age 65 and older. This will be a drive-thru pod, where you can receive the vaccine from the comfort of your car. The vaccinations will take place at Henry County Healthcare Center Plumley Rehab Parking Lot. Participants are asked to enter hospital circle from the North entrance (road right past the Emergency Room entrance).  Participants should be prepared to wait 15-30 minutes after they receive the vaccine.
