Lifeline Blood Drive Wednesday, February 24 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. HCMC will host a Lifeline blood drive on Wednesday, February 24. Times are 9 am – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 pm – 4 pm. Please make plans to help out with this blood drive.  Blood supply gets critical this time of year, especially with COVID-19.  And, due to the weather, all blood drives were cancelled the week of Feb. 15-19. All donors will receive a free t-shirt! Those giving blood will not be entering HCMC, but can access the Lifeline Bloodmobile off the HCMC Cafeteria Patio.  All registration will occur at the Bloodmobile.

HCMC Community Educator and/or Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation Chronic Disease Nurse Case Manager will be available to take your blood pressure and discuss the results with you on the first and third Tuesday mornings of each month (schedule could be modified due to holidays). Start by attending our Heart Health Event to recognize Heart Health Month. Get a carotid artery ultrasound as well as your blood pressure, full lipid panel cholesterol, and blood glucose by appointment only at our Heart Strong Heart Health Fair. When calling to register, please be prepared to provide your name, phone number and date of birth. Limited appointments available and you must not have had the carotid artery screening performed within the past 5 years. Goodie bags will also be given. Our Chronic Disease Management Program offers free screenings including total lipid panel, blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI  and A1c.  If a person has a chronic condition , smokes or is overweight, they can join the program for free. Participants are screened every three months and receive education about their chronic conditions. All patients must be fasting for 8 hours to participate in the screening. Screenings will be done by appointment only to provide social distancing. Masks are required. Screening will be held at HCMC Diagnostic Center Atrium. Our Community Health Screening offers free screenings for blood pressure, osteoporosis, and blood sugar. Total cholesterol along with a full lipid panel screening is available for $10.  All screenings will be performed on-site, using point-of-care fingerstick machines. Results will be available immediately. All patients must be fasting for 6 hours to participate in the screening. Screening will be held at Henry County Farm Bureau on 406 N Poplar Street in Paris.
